Mike Fischer is a Senior Sector Specialist in the Building Materials practice at Daybreak Capital Partners. He brings more than 30 years of building products industry experience in sales, marketing and manufacturing. He has had P&L responsibility in organizations ranging from 150 – 1,000 employees, and has been part of a leadership team that successfully navigated one of the world’s best known brands through chapter 11 bankruptcy, private equity, turnaround, and sale to a strategic buyer.
Mike was the CEO of Swan Corporation, a $50 million manufacturer of decorative surfaces for the kitchen and bath industry. Prior to his work at Swan, Mike held several leadership roles at Formica Corp., a $350 million manufacturer of decorative surfaces. He joined the company in 2002 and served as the Vice President of Sales prior to assuming the role of President. During his eight-year tenure at Formica, he successfully implemented strategies that grew sales and market share, increased productivity and improved the profitability of the business.
Prior to joining Formica, Mike was the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the $650 million Wood Flooring Division of Armstrong World Industries. During his 23-year career with Armstrong, Fischer also held a wide variety of sales, marketing and general management leadership positions in Armstrong's North American Ceiling and Flooring divisions. Mike graduated from Iowa State University - College of Business with a BS in Marketing.
